Colorama Dracaena is a genus of dracaena, native to the southwestern Western Ghats and Sri Lanka. The genus has a long history, with numerous taxonomic changes. A recent phylogenetic analysis based on DNA sequences found that the Colorama Dracaena forms a monophyletic group with four other dracaenoid genera: Dendropsophus, Eulampra, Heterocallis, and Stanhopea. The Colorama Dracaena is probably one of the most popular dracaenas in cultivation. It is hardy in U.S. Department of Agriculture zones 8-11, and will tolerate some partial shade. The fragrant flowers are borne in panicles from the middle of the stem, and can be several inches wide.
